On October 17 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Professor Yaolong Chen, who directs the Chinese GRADE centre, and Professor Kehu Yang, Director of Lanzhou University’s Evidence Based Medicine Center in China. In Melbourne on October 24, the same MoU was signed by Campbell's CEO Howard White and Editor in Chief Vivian Welch.
The objective of the MoU is to promote academic collaboration for research, education, and community service by strengthening cooperation between the two institutions and promoting the production, dissemination and implementation of research evidence. Vivian Welch started the work together by holding a Systematic Review Methods & Workshop on Evidence-Based Social Science Research Methods at Lanzhou University.
In the MoU, both parties agreed to:
- Promote the translation of the Campbell plain language summaries.
- Hold joint academic seminars and training sessions related to health and social sciences and Campbell systematic reviews.
- Encourage the exchange of scholars/faculty and professional staff members for research, teaching, and professional training.
- Conduct Campbell systematic reviews of interest to both parties. For example, the methodological systematic review of methodological and reporting characteristics of Campbell reviews.
The Campbell Collaboration looks forward to this ongoing collaboration with the Evidence Based Medicine Center.
