Correlation from chi-square p-value based on a 2-by-2 frequency table
Notes: This method computes a correlation from a p-value of a chi-square calculated on 2-by-2 frequency data. The degrees of freedom for the chi-square must equal 1. It assumes you have two groups or conditions and a binary dependent variable. The “Yes” and “No” are simply the two levels of the binary variable, such as yes/no, success/failure, passed/failed, lived/died, etc.
