President of the Campbell Board, Dr Jeremy Grimshaw has announced the appointment of Will Moy as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Campbell Collaboration.
Will Moy has been Chief Executive of Full Fact since 2010. Full Fact is a UK-based charity that works to inform and improve public debate and reduce the harm done by misinformation through fact checking, campaigning and technology. Will has led it from the beginning to become a trusted voice whose work is used by millions of people, from voters to the most senior policymakers, and a world leader in artificial intelligence in its field.
Jeremy Grimshaw said: “The whole Campbell Collaboration worked together to set out our strategy of better evidence for a better world. Will Moy brings a wealth of experience and is the ideal CEO to lead us through our next phase, and to improve the lives of citizens globally. On behalf of the Campbell Board, I am delighted to welcome Will to the collaboration and the Board looks forward to working with him.”
Will takes over the role of Campbell CEO from Dr Vivian Welch, Editor in Chief, who was interim CEO from February 2022 to March 2023. Jeremy Grimshaw paid tribute to Dr Welch “We would like to thank Vivian for her leadership as interim CEO over the last 14 months. She made a great contribution to Campbell’s success and we look forward to continuing our work with her as our Editor in Chief.”
Will Moy said: “Organising and sharing evidence systematically is a game changer—from Wikipedia to the Human Genome Project. By reviewing and bringing together all the available evidence, the Campbell Collaboration’s systematic reviews and evidence and gap maps help make it possible to tackle the biggest societal challenges we face today. I am proud to be joining the Campbell Collaboration.”
The Campbell Collaboration is an international social science research network. Campbell groups coordinate the production and promote the use of high-quality, policy-relevant evidence syntheses such as systematic reviews and evidence and gap maps which are published in our open access journal, Campbell Systematic Reviews, and used by policymakers around the world.
