Campbell Crime & Justice Coordinating Group seeks Associate Editors

The Campbell Crime & Justice Coordinating Group (CJCG) is recruiting Associate Editors to support the production of high-quality, policy-relevant systematic reviews. We anticipate that newly-recruited Associate Editors will go on to become Editors and build the editorial capacity of the CJCG.

Background

The vision of the Campbell Collaboration is to bring about positive social change, and to improve the quality of public and private services around the world, by preparing, maintaining and disseminating systematic reviews of existing social science evidence.

CJCG was one of Campbell’s founding groups, established in 2000 to support the production of systematic reviews with policy relevance to criminology and criminal justice. The CJCG is supported by a Steering Committee of international experts and leaders in evidence-based criminology.

The CJCG provides editorial services and methodological guidance, fosters collaboration in the production of systematic reviews and builds the capacity of authors and policymakers to conduct and use systematic reviews. The group has an increasing portfolio of reviews across a range of topics, from terrorism and radicalisation to intimate partner violence, and restorative justice conferencing.

  2. Select external peer reviewers
  3. Integrate comments from external peer reviewers and methods reviewers into a clear set of changes to be addressed by authors

Experience with editorial work for international journals would be an advantage.

Associate Editors are expected to move into the Editors’ role in due course; hence, they should meet the prerequisites at, or soon after, their appointment as Associate Editors. Mentorship with active coaching is provided to develop the core competencies.

Terms and conditions

Campbell is a volunteer organisation and all Coordinating Groups are self-supporting. The CJCG currently manages a programme of funded reviews that provides some funds to support editorial activities.
