The American Institutes for Research (AIR) has announced a grant of US$250,000 a year for three years (2022-24) to support the institution selected as the new host of the Campbell Collaboration from 1 January 2022. Funds will be directed to strengthen infrastructure and engagement around the use of research syntheses to more significantly contribute to equity.
Campbell has launched a global call for a research institution to assume management of the Campbell secretariat, the coordination of the research network overall, and the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
David Myers, President and CEO of AIR, has been a long-term supporter of the Campbell Collaboration. He attended its founding meeting in London in 1999 and now sits on the Campbell Board. “I am happy to be able to support the continued growth of this valuable research network, which is dedicated to producing policy-relevant research evidence syntheses such as systematic reviews in a wide range of social science fields, from education to social welfare, disability, crime and justice, international development, and more,” he said.
President of the Campbell Board Jeremy Grimshaw said, “For over 20 years, Campbell has been fortunate to benefit from AIR’s steadfast and generous support that has helped establish Campbell as a global research network supporting policymakers and practitioners everywhere. This grant is a substantive demonstration of AIR’s confidence in the strengths and potential of Campbell.”
