We are pleased to announce the election of Dr Kathleen Murphy as Co-chair of the Campbell Knowledge Translation and Implementation Coordinating Group (KTI CG).
Kathleen is a principal researcher at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she directs the Center on Knowledge Translation for Disability and Rehabilitation Research. She was also the director of the Center on Knowledge Translation for Employment Research from 2016-2021.
Kathleen has over 20 years’ experience developing, managing executing and disseminating findings from research projects. Prior to joining AIR, she was an Assistant Research Professor at Baylor University, a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame, and an IIE Fulbright Scholar at the University of Guadalajara. She has published on a range of topics such as how to support cancer survivors in the workplace, including co-authoring a Campbell systematic review and a 2021 update of two prior Campbell reviews on employment interventions to support the employment outcomes of people with autism.
Kathleen holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also did postdoctoral work in the School of Social Work. She also holds an MA in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and a bachelor’s degree in History and Literature from Harvard University.
As Co-chair, she aims to build on the KTI CG’s strong foundation. She plans to work closely with KTI CG members and the Advisory Board to determine how best to move forward with accomplishing the group’s goals, and to identify research-based strategies useful for promoting the use and adoption of Campbell systematic reviews.
