Teen pregnancy is well known to be a predictor of early school leaving, and there is ample evidence linking early school leaving to lower social and economic prospects. Many programs have been created to help pregnant teens continue their education, particularly in the US, and a recent Campbell review suggests that these programs are effective.

Boruch award to David P. Farrington

Professor David P. Farrington has been given this year's Robert Boruch Award for Distinctive Contribution to Research that Informs Public Policy. Prof. Farrington has advanced the science of evidence based policy through his basic research, reviews of experiments and systematic reviews. He was the founding Chair of the Campbell Crime and Justice Group Steering Committee from 2000-04 and then served as co-chair from 2004-07.

Wilson, Professor and Chair of the Criminology, Law and Society Department at George Mason University, has been given this year's award for his distinctive contributions to systematic reviewing. Dr. Wilson has made numerous contributions to both the methodology and practice of research synthesis.
