The Campbell Collaboration

Welcome!

Campbell's website has a new look, but our goals have not changed. As before, we promote positive social change, by contributing to better-informed decisions and better-quality public and private services around the world.

This is the context in which we prepare and disseminate high quality systematic reviews of social science evidence in three interlinked fields: education, crime and justice, and social welfare.

The case for evidence-informed policy formulation is clear. We cannot afford services that are at the same time costly and ineffective. And there are reliable ways of establishing which programmes work - and which don't. Campbell has long been engaged in this task. We have been at the forefront of efforts to develop rigourous methods to prevent conclusions being distorted by bias.

Our endeavour is to uncover, evaluate and communciate knowledge, and to challenge biases and prejudices that prompt mistaken decisions and ineffective solutions. This renewed website is a better platform to make our research available, and to contribute to an objective, evidence-centred public debate.

As a visitor, you are cordially invited not only to learn about our work, but also to share your own expertise and to get involoved in our work. Campbell is already acknowledged as a leading source of high quality studies of the effects of social interventions. The next step is to further strengthen this collaboration as a global resource in the search for effective responses to complex social challenges.
