The Campbell Collaboration announces that Paul Connolly has taken on the role of Co-Chair for the Education Group. A Professor of Education at Queen's University Belfast, he also holds the position of Donald Dewar Visiting Chair in Social Justice and Public Policy at the University of Glasgow. Professor Connolly is Founding Editor of the international, peer-reviewed journal Effective Education and Founding Director of the Centre for Effective Education at Queen's, which currently runs more randomised controlled trials than any other educational research centre in the UK or Ireland.

A sociologist by training, he is best known for his research on issues of inequality and diversity in early childhood. Professor Connolly is also a trained statistician and is the author of the popular textbook Quantitative Data Analysis in Education (Routledge, 2007).  Through the work of his Centre, his current research is focused on the design and analysis of randomised and cluster randomised controlled trials.

Professor Connolly is also founder and Co-Director of Una: The Global Learning Initiative on Children and Ethnic Diversity.
