The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has called for proposals from review teams who want to be part of its cutting-edge pilot, scheduled to run from January - September 2010. The call itself was issued on the Research for Development (R4D) website.
The aim is to increase the use of evidence in policy and to contribute directly to shaping international development policy and practice. DFID has developed a set of over 40 priority systematic review questions.
Applications were due 6 April 2010 and, in total, 25 systematic reviews will be funded. If the pilot is successful, DFID will be supporting the creation of an independent and international collaboration to oversee the creation and dissemination of systematic reviews that will focus on creating public good outputs to the highest academic standard.
