The Methods Group supports the production of Campbell reviews by improving the methodology of research synthesis, and by disseminating review method guidelines.
Methods' editors provide reviewers, editorial teams, and trainers with advice on locating studies, assessing study quality, integrating study outcomes, and interpreting the results.

Subgroups on Methods
The Methods Group has several subgroups that conduct empirical research and develop guidelines and recommendations for specific components of research synthesis.
These subgroups work within the areas of economic methods, equity methods, implementation process, information retrieval, quasi-experimental design studies, statistics methods, and training. Contact information can be found here.
The subgroups have five general functions:
- To provide advice on methodology and methods policy
- To provide training and support
- To conduct empirical research
- To monitor the quality of Campbell's systematic reviews
- To serve as a forum for discussion on research models
The subgroups on methods work closely with the methods groups in our sibling organization The Cochrane Collaboration, to ensure that guidance given by the two organizations is similar.
