Oslo is divided into many areas where you can find a variation of restaurants with different food and prices. Both Aker Brygge and Grünerløkka are areas with a number of different restaurants and cafés.
Aker Brygge has something for every taste and wallet, but the selection is probably best for persons with well-lined wallets. The waterfront along the fjord is teeming with activity 24 hours a day, particularly in summer, and it doesn't cost anything to wander along the quay and enjoy life.
To get there take tram # 10, # 12, # 13 or # 19, or walk from Nationaltheatret Station.
From being a run-down area of town a decade ago, Grünerløkka has blossomed into one of Oslo's most exciting and multicultural areas. Here you will find a young, hip and relaxed café and pub scene. The cafés, restaurants and pubs have increased in numbers and have spread into the neighbouring area of Grønland.
To get there take tram # 11 "Disen", # 12 "Kjelsås" or # 13 "Grefsen" to Olaf Ryes plass.
You can find some suggestions for restaurants in Oslo underneath.
