Getting to the hotel
|
Holmenkollen Park Hotel is a beautiful venue with an extraordinary view of the city; however, public transportation to the property is limited. Please review the following local travel options carefully to determine which is best for you.
From Oslo Gardermoen Airport via Oslo Central Station (Oslo S)
Upon arrival at Oslo's Gardermoen Airport, you can take the Airport Express Train directly to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) and then transfer to the Oslo underground train for the ride up to the hotel. Airport Express Trains trains depart every 10 minutes from the airport. Travel time to Oslo S is approximately 20 minutes and the cost is NOK 160.

From the Central Station (Oslo S) via underground train
Take underground train #1, "Frognerseteren," and get off at the Holmenkollen Station. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes and the price is NOK 36 per person. Once you exit the train at Holmenkollen Station, follow the road uphill towards the Holmenkollen National Ski Stadium. Note: The walk from the station to the hotel is between approximately 700m or about 10 minutes. The path is uphill and gravelly in spots. There is no taxi service from Holmenkollen Station to the hotel.
Participants with disabilities or those traveling with significant amounts of luggage are discouraged from using this mode of transport to the hotel.

Taxi from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S)
Once you arrive at Oslo S, another option to get to the Holmenkollen is by taxi. The taxi journey normally takes approximately 30 minutes and the cost is between NOK 250 - 350, depending on the time of day and number of passengers traveling in your party. A taxi ride to the hotel from Oslo S during morning or late afternoon "rush hour" traffic can take up to 45 minutes and is at the higher end of this cost range.
Airport taxi from Oslo Airport directly to Holmenkollen Park Hotel
Taxi service from the airport directly to the hotel is available; however, the cost is significant if traveling individually.
For 1 to 4 travelers, the flat rate is NOK 740 (currently approx. 85 Euros, $108 US Dollars or British Pounds). For 5 travelers or more, the flat rate starts at NOK 1010 and increases by NOK 120 for each additional traveler. An additional charge of NOK 200 will apply if traveling weekdays after 5 pm and before 6 am and throughout the weekend.
